National committees of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia
The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) regulates more than 960,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.
Applications are sought from experienced registered Chinese Medicine practitioners and members of the community for appointment to the following committees of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (the Board):
- Policy Planning and Communications Committee (PPCC)
- one practitioner member vacancy
- Registration and Notifications Committee (RNC)
- one community member vacancy
The PPCC considers and advises the Board on any emerging issues that may have strategic or policy implications as well as prepare and draft codes and guidelines for Board consideration and stakeholder consultation.
The RNC decides applications for registration and assess all notifications, and compliance matters regarding Chinese Medicine health practitioners.
Registered practitioner applicants must have at least five years clinical experience in Australia and a minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree of Chinese Medicine.
It is preferred that practitioner applicants are registered in at least two of the three divisions of the Chinese Medicine register.

The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.
To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on the Board and its committees and warmly invite Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders to apply.
|
The National Scheme is also committed to providing an environment that embraces and values equity, diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of all abilities and backgrounds to apply, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally diverse people, people with a disability, carers of a person with a disability, people living in rural or remote areas of Australia and people who identify as LGBTIQA+. If you need an adjustment or support during the recruitment process, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application.
Applications will be assessed by a selection advisory panel and appointments are expected to commence in April 2026.
