Registration and Notifications Committee of the Optometry Board of Australia
The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) regulates more than 960,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions. The Optometry Board of Australia (the Board) registers over 7,400 optometrists across Australia.
Applications are sought from registered optometrists to fill a role on the Board’s Registration and Notifications Committee (RNC). Suitable applicants will be placed in a merit pool for future vacancies.
The RNC is a delegated decision-making committee and makes decisions on registration and notification matters regarding optometrists. Further information can be found on the Board’s website.
Applications are strongly encouraged from people with a diverse background, specifically, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally diverse people, people with a disability, carers of a person with a disability, people living in rural or remote areas of Australia and LGBTIQA+ people.
|
The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.
To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on the Board and its committees and warmly invite Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders to apply.
|
The Board and the National Scheme is also committed to providing an environment that embraces and values equity, diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of all abilities and backgrounds to apply, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally diverse people, people with a disability, carers of a person with a disability, people living in rural or remote areas of Australia and people who identify as LGBTIQA+. If you need an adjustment or support during the recruitment process, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application.
RNC members will be renumerated for their time. Applications will be assessed by a selection advisory panel and appointments are expected to commence in July 2026.
