Help protect the public and set national standards for registered health practitioners
The National Boards (the Boards) work in partnership with Ahpra to manage the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme). They regulate Australia’s 980,000 registered health practitioners and 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions. These Boards consist of community members and practitioner members (who are registered in the relevant profession) and set the professional standards practitioners must meet to be registered and safe to practise.
