Do you share a commitment to safety and quality and want to shape the direction of health regulation?

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with the 15 National Boards to help protect the public by regulating Australia's 980,000 registered health practitioners. The Ahpra Board is responsible for determining Ahpra’s policies as well as setting the strategic direction for the national regulatory scheme for the health professions and assuring its performance as a whole.

Applications are now sought for appointment to the Ahpra Board from members of the community. If you have a passion for safety and quality, and have expertise in health, education, business administration or regulation, then we want to hear from you.

The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme has an important role in ensuring the health workforce is culturally safe, respectful,
responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ needs and promotes the elimination of racism in health care.

To help achieve this, we are committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on the Ahpra Board
and warmly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply.

If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and would like to talk about these opportunities, please email mobvoices@ahpra.gov.au.

The National Scheme is also committed to providing an environment that embraces and values equity, diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of all abilities and backgrounds to apply, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally diverse people, people with a disability, carers of a person with a disability, people living in rural or remote areas of Australia and people who identify as LGBTIQA+. If you need an adjustment or support during the recruitment process, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application.

Information about eligibility requirements specific to these advertised vacancies, the roles of Board members and the application process can be found in the Information guide.

For enquiries, please contact statutoryappointments@ahpra.gov.au

All appointments are made by state, territory and Commonwealth Health Ministers for up to three years, under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, as in force in each state and territory.
