Appointment to the Ahpra Research Evaluation Committee

Ahpra works in partnership with 15 National Boards to regulate more than 940,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.

Applications are sought from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples with experience in research and/or evaluation for appointment to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) Research Evaluation Committee (REC).

The REC was established in 2015 to oversee the development and delivery of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme’s (National Scheme) research and evaluation activities and provide advice to the National Executive to ensure their successful implementation. The REC is chaired by Ahpra’s Chief Executive Officer.

As a member, you will provide feedback on National Scheme research and evaluation projects and relevant internal supporting policies and processes.

The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.

To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on Boards and Committees and warmly invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply.

Applications will be assessed by a selection advisory panel and the appointment will be for a three-year term, with eligibility for reappointment.

More information about the role, eligibility requirements and the application process can be found in the Download File Information guide and the REC's Download File Terms of Reference.

Information and tips on how to use PageUp is outlined in the Download File PageUp applicant instructions.
