Occupational Therapy Board of Australia

The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) regulates 875,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (the Board) is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced community members for appointment to its Registration and Notifications Committee (RNC) to assist the Board in its primary role of protecting the public.

The functions of the RNC include:

  • making decisions in relation to registration and notification matters
  • providing professional and practitioner input to Ahpra about occupational therapy registration and notification matters, and
  • making recommendations and providing advice to the Board.

For more information on the Board, please click here.

The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.

To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on the Board and its committees and warmly invite Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders to apply.

Applications will be assessed by a selection advisory panel and appointments are expected to commence in October 2024.

More information about the role, eligibility requirements and the application process can be found in the attached Download File Terms of reference and Download File Information guide.
