Expert Advisory Committee on Pharmacist Prescribing

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to regulate more than 960,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.

Applications are sought from suitable qualified registered health practitioners and members of the community for appointment to the Expert Advisory Committee on Pharmacist Prescribing (the Committee).

The Pharmacy Board of Australia (the Board) has established the Committee to advise on matters relevant to establishing an endorsement in relation to scheduled medicines for pharmacists under section 14 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, as in force in each state and territory (the National Law).

The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.

To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on the Board and its committees and warmly invite Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders to apply.

The National Scheme is also committed to providing an environment that embraces and values equity, diversity and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of all abilities and backgrounds to apply, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally diverse people, people with a disability, carers of a person with a disability, people living in rural or remote areas of Australia and people who identify as LGBTIQA+. If you need an adjustment or support during the recruitment process, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application.

Applications will be assessed by a selection advisory panel and the appointment will be for up to 12 months.

More information about the role, eligibility requirements and the application process can be found in the Information guide and Terms of Reference.

If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and would like to talk about this opportunity, please email mobvoices@ahpra.gov.au.

For all other enquiries, please email statutoryappointments@ahpra.gov.au.
