The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) regulates more than 740,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.

The Psychology Board of Australia (the Board) is seeking applications from experienced registered psychologists for appointment to its Psychology Notifications Committee: Assessment (the PNCA) to assist the Board in its primary role of protecting the public.

The functions of the PNCA are to manage assessment matters by carrying out the notification functions delegated by the National Board, including, but not limited to:

  • review and assessment of notifications and complaints regarding psychologists and provisional psychologists
  • determination of the relevant issues for investigation or assessment, and
  • referral of any matters of concern about individual registrants or matters which are complex to the relevant regional board

Applications will be assessed by a selection advisory panel and appointments will be made by the Board. New appointees to the PNCA will be required to complete an orientation and induction program.

The appointment will be for up to 3 years with a possibility of extension.
