Call for applications for appointment to the Racism-related Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Special Issues Committee (RATSISIC)
Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with experience addressing racism and a commitment to cultural safety?
- Join a dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-only committee established under Ahpra’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Anti-Racism Policy, with cultural authority to advise on racism-related reports made to Ahpra and the National Boards
- Support culturally safe and restorative approaches to addressing racism in our governance and workplace structures
Provide advice on systemic issues, policy improvements, and community expectations to ensure Ahpra is accountable in eliminating racism
Ahpra works in partnership with 15 National Boards to regulate more than 960,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.
The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.
The RATSISIC plays a vital role in ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and authority shape how racism-related concerns within Ahpra are heard and addressed. This work is central to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Anti-Racism Policy and to our commitment to cultural safety, self-determination, and eliminating racism in the provision and regulation of health services.

Applications will be assessed by a selection advisory panel and appointments will be for a two-year term, with eligibility for reappointment.
