Help protect the public and set national standards for registered health practitioners
National Boards regulate Australia’s 920,000 registered health practitioners and 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions. These Boards consist of community members and practitioner members (who are registered in the relevant profession) and set the professional standards practitioners must meet to be registered.
Applications are now open for 2 vacancies on the following National Boards:
Medical Board of Australia
|
Practitioners from the Australian Capital Territory
|
Optometry Board of Australia
|
Practitioners from Victoria
|
Please note: state or territory eligibility requirements apply as indicated. If a state or territory is not included in this round it is because a member from this state is already appointed to serve a current term on the National Board.

The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.
To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on National Boards and warmly invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply.

If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and would like to talk about these opportunities, please email mobvoices@ahpra.gov.au.
