The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) exists to ensure the public receives safe healthcare by registering health practitioners who are suitably qualified and safe to practise. Public protection is the paramount objective in the National Scheme and appointing individuals with the attributes and capability that drive effective regulatory decision making is fundamental to fulfilling this purpose.

There is one practitioner member vacancy on the Victorian Board of the Medical Board of Australia

Practitioner members demonstrate a strong connection to communities, an understanding of diverse patient needs across healthcare settings and apply a public interest approach and broad perspective to regulatory decision making, reflecting an understanding of public expectation. They have a strong connection to the medical profession, with significant experience and knowledge to provide clinical insights and advice.
