The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) regulates more than 940,000 registered health practitioners and over 184,000 registered students across 16 health professions. The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) and 15 health profession boards (National Boards) work together to deliver the National Scheme.
The Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (the Board) is calling for applications from registered medical radiation practitioners and members of the community with a focus on registered practitioners with clinical education experience and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for appointment to the Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee (the Committee).
The role of the Committee is to:
- develop accreditation standards for approval by the Board
- assess, accredit and monitor education providers and programs of study
- ensure culturally safe practice is integrated in the design and implementation of programs, and
- make recommendations and give advice to the Board.
Who should apply?
Applicants must have:
- an interest in accreditation in the National Scheme,
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
And any of the following
- recent experience in clinical education and assessment of students and registered practitioners, or
- recent clinical education experience and expertise ultrasound or MRI, or
- formal qualifications in education, or
- expertise in the accreditation or assessment of higher education programs, or
- culturally safe healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.
